Let's start there: I'm french and when I go back to France the last place I want to go is a touristy restaurant which serves frozen food. I'm always reluctant to go to typical french restaurants as I feel I'm being taken for an idiot (i-e pay a lot of money for really bad food).
This place is the exact OPPOSITE: it's a really great bouchon and the people owning the place are so nice and friendly; they explained the whole menu, making recommendations on our taste.
The place only has big communal tables with red and white tableclothes, and old posters on the wall. It feels like I'm at Grandma's.
The food is amazing: I had the St Marcellin brick to start, then the quenelle with homardine sauce and to finish chocolate mousse. Portions are huge and it only costs 29euros for a 3 course meal (again really good food and really big portions)
It really deserves its 5 stars. -

My father and I visited lyon for four days and found this little place in our second day. Then we visited twice and ordered the from the menu each time... The good food was just amazing and did not disappoint us at all. One of the best memories of the trip !!! The personnel was very very friendly and we can recommend this restaurant to anyone;) the quality of the food and the ambience is totally worth it . The next time we are in town we will come again for sure, great French cuisine with awesome ambience.

Came for dinner tonight and was welcomed by a gentleman named Gilles, who I believe is the owner. He explained each dish on their set menu so that we knew what everything was. The set dinner price was €26,90. I started with the Lyonnaise salad bar. He even came over and explained to me what each salad dish was when I looked a bit hesitant and had me try it all. My main course was the cocon lyonnaise in lobster sauce, which was amazing. My boyfriend had the andouiette with mustard sauce and it was fantastic too! For dessert he had the creme brûlée and I had the fromage blanc which is like a rich Greek yogurt. The meal was delicious and was a traditional Lyon dinner! Would definitely recommend coming here to try real local foods!
